Breve história do evento


Desde os seus primórdios, em 1900, o Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) é o mais importante clube nacional de desporto motorizado que organiza corridas de automóveis e Rallys em Portugal.Em 1967, e após um elevado número de eventos nacionais, o ACP decidiu organizar um evento internacional, apoiando o interesse da TAP, a transportadora aérea nacional. No seguimento do sucesso alcançado, o TAPRally de Portugal foi admitido no Campeonato Mundial de Rallys em 1973, o primeiro ano desta competição.Desde essa data e até 2001, o TAP Rally de Portugal, o Rally de Portugal –Vinho do Porto e, recentemente patrocinado de novo pela TAP, o Rally dePortugal esteve entre os melhores eventos do mundo, conquistando por cinco vezes o título de “Melhor Rally do Mundo” e, em 2000, um outro prémio importante: “Melhor Rally do Ano”.Depois disso, a FIA decidiu retirar o Rally de Portugal do Mundial.Este ano, voltamos a tentar!
